In the last 10 years the
focus on food and wine
matters has increased
considerably. Together with
the interest in everything
happening in the kitchen, a
new phenomenon appeared
on the web: the food
blogger. Started in US and
Uk almost in the same
period, this passionate
activity spread all over the
world turning in a massive
invasion of the web and
becoming one of the most
appealing “hobby” for many
foodies and food lovers.

A food blogger is someone
who shares on the web his
deep passion for food and
everything involved in the
food universe. Her/he (since
the highest percentage is
female), has a web site so
called “blog” which simply is a
food diary on line where you
can read personal experiences
matched with recipes and food
experiences. Food bloggers
are great communicators,
photographers and cooks and
put these three abilities into a
virtual personal world
followed by thousand people
with the same passion.

The great ability to
reach people all over
the web and also to
influence consumers
and food trends, made
food blog important
marketing
instruments for food
business, enterprises,
companies and
producers. Food
blogger can move
attention on products
and trends.

FOOD BLOGGERS IN ITALY

The first food blogs
appeared on the web on
2004/2005. Actually it is
not possible to have a
detailed idea of the final
number on Italian FB,
but for sure they are
more than 3000. The
average life of a FB is 2
years but the most
reliable and active on the
web have from 4 to 6
years and count over
million visits and
thousand aficionados.

ASSOCIAZIONE ITALIANA FOOD BLOGGER

The Association
was born on
February 2014 and in
four months of active
life, it counts 160
members, dozen of
events, blog tours,
cooperations and
web articles.

The aim of AIFB is to create
a moment and a place to
share individual experiences
and turn them into a group
consciousness, trying to
learn and gain the ultimate
information on food, to
improve our own way to
communicate through the
web, to meet producers of
excellence and forgotten
products, to keep food
traditions alive and kicking,
to invite people considering
food and alimentation the
most important way to live
healthy and happily.

The AIFB had recently
signed a Cooperation
protocol with the
Italian Association
of Olive oil Towns
and it is working on
several projects to be
realized within
December 2014. More
projects connected
with Expo 2015 are
working progress.
