RESULT ONE
Improved Sectoral Policy
dialogue and cooperation
between the EU and SA in
the areas under the SPAP
and the TDCA

OBJECTIVELY VERIFIABLE INDICATORS
 An improved dialogue exists between the EU and
SA under at least eight of the dialogue areas
mentioned within the SPAP and the TDCA, or new
areas that have been identified and prioritised.
 The dialogue has led to policy support in at least
six of the areas mentioned within the SPAP and the
TDCA.
 PMU communication and networking with
relevant actors results in policy dialogue areas
submitting 15 successful project proposals for
dialogue support.
 Five grant contracts signed and implemented to
support sectoral dialogue and cooperation.
 At least four studies or research papers are
prepared to support dialogue and cooperation.
 At least eight meetings, workshops, seminars or
conferences are held to create an opportunity for
the exchange of information and create a platform
for policy dialogue, are planned and facilitated.

At least four SA Government Departments are
further capacitated to engage in effective policy
dialogue.
The DGs in the EU have a clearer understanding of
SAs sectoral issues for dialogue in order to
constructively engage in accordance with the
SPAP and the TDCA.
At least ten SA Government Departments receive
capacity building support for dialogue.
The provision of at least four high-level policy
experts supporting institutional capacity linked to
policy dialogue.
Communication strategy is approved and
implemented.
Number of publications.
Number of website “hits”.
Lessons learned report from programme, delivered.
Collation of good practice from international
dialogue facilities.
Number of media specialists that participate in
awareness raising activities.
Number of policy actors who engage with the “call
for papers” initiative.
