Welcome to the 25th Asian Television Awards. As we celebrate the
silver anniversary of the Awards, I would like to take the time to
congratulate all the winners and nominees.
The 25th Asian Television Awards come at a time when Asia —
and the rest of the world grapples with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Despite the challenges posed, the content and broadcast industry
has maintained its role in informing, educating, and entertaining
their audiences. This is reflected in the volume of entries received
by the Awards, which has surpassed last year.

Mr. Lee Keen Whye

Chairman, Asian Television Awards

COVID-19 has also affected how the Awards is presented this
year. Having been held successfully in Singapore, Malaysia,
and the Philippines, the Awards was originally slated to be held
next at Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Unfortunately, lockdowns and
travel restrictions across the Asia Pacific have made it logistically
impossible to do so for this year’s Awards. This challenge has
accelerated our use of state-of-the-art technology, streaming, and
social media to create a show without a physical audience and
produced across several countries, bringing talents, hosts, and
performers from many countries together as one.
Keeping to its mission of bringing the Awards close to the television
viewer, the Awards will be broadcast on Facebook, Instagram,
Twitter, and Weibo, together with a telecast of the Awards
proceedings on multiple terrestrial and cable networks across the
Asia Pacific, reaching 500 million homes across the region. This
has only been made possible with the generous support of our
broadcast partner network.
The Awards will continue to bring world-class entertainment
into many people’s homes during this time with performances
from leading talents in Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, and the
Philippines. The Show continues to command high participation
from leading regional celebrities and talents. This year, in place
of our traditional red carpet, more than 30 regional celebrities will
make guest appearances in the Show.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our panel of
distinguished judges drawn from 11 countries for taking time off
their busy schedules to adjudicate the numerous entries. Their
commitment and dedication uphold the stature of the Awards.
The Asian Television Awards would not have been possible without
the support from the numerous broadcasters and production
houses, as well as the talent in front of and behind the camera.
I would also like to thank all our partners and sponsors for
making the Awards Show possible, contributing time, resources,
and assistance as we overcome distance, travel restrictions, and
lockdowns to make the ATA Show possible.
Thank you so much to the team and crew of the Asian Television
Awards across Singapore, the Philippines, Malaysia, China, and
Thailand. Without them, the Awards would not have been possible.
Finally, I would like to send my warmest congratulations to all the
nominees and winners of the 25th Asian Television Awards.
